- Guglielmo Marconi

-
- The triumphal progress of wireless telephony is evidenced in
- every daily paper. New devices, improved methods, record
- performances crowd the news, though but a twenty-four hours'
- wonder.
-
- The master wizard of all radioists, Guglielmo Marconi, is
- again on the job, and forecasts the early attainment of complete
- directional control of radio. He is working to perfect a system
- by which radio messages will be received only by the persons for
- whom they are intended. His experiments, extending over a
- considerable period, will soon be put to the acid test on his
- specially fitted yacht Electra, on which he will cruise down the
- coast of Europe and Africa. Messages will be sent from Wales and
- other distant places to test his theory. The secret is being
- closely guarded, but the method is said to depend on a new kind
- of receiving instrument, whereby stations can tell the point of
- the wave's origin to a fraction of a second of arc.
